Maintaining standards

Morshead Mansions is currently the subject of an extensive external maintenance contract in which the building's windows and frames are being re-painted and repaired, redundant flues, pipework and cables are being removed, damaged brickwork is being repaired and anti-pigeon measures implemented.

The building's gardens at front and rear are constantly maintained with seasonal planting providing colour through most of the year.  The communal gardens are reserved for the use of residents and their guests and provide a safe environment for children to play.

The common parts stairwells are inspected monthly and damage caused by the usual wear and tear is rectified at frequent intervals.

All aspects of the building and of its modern infrastrutre including mains services such as gas and water supplies are monitored regularly.

The landlord company provides and maintains a communal satellite TV system to which all apartments are connected.  Subscription to a satellite TV service is at the discretion of the residents who make their own individual arrangements with a service provider of their choice.

Basement storage
Basement storerooms once used predominantly as coal stores and to accommodate resident porters, laundries and workshops are available to the residents for their use as general storage.  Allocation of storerooms is by application to the landlord company.

The recently renovated basement corridors have been fitted with secure 'bicycle stations' to which residents may lock their bicycles, baby buggies and similar equipment.

For safety reasons, storage of bicycles and baby buggies etc. is not permitted in the communal stairwells.
